If the rads fitted properly you wont have to worry about hitting it. wink Mario are you going to fit the irs mounts when you got the body off?. smile

Mate dropped spindles over adjustable beam anytime.will drop the bug without any geometry change..you can still go narrowed beam but would choose spindles first

Yeh but i gotta watch how low i go mate. dont forget my scooby lump will hang down a bit at the back,im not sure how much difference the shorter sump will make.
Im thinkin of sticking her on a rake, nose down look. if i go dropped spindles im a bit concerned about front end being too low..

Spindles only drop you 3 inches, any higher then that and you will need a step ladder to get in it (cuz your little )

I would still buy one with the adjusters in but go spindles as well...but then thinking about it if your not going very low it may be ok with just the adjusters..but...it will look silly with a narrowed beam if its not low enough..
Oily has a homemade 3 inch beam with no dropped spindles and his looks and drives ok.

Fuck it,go with adjustable narrowed beam first, see and feel what it drives like at the height you want, then get spindles if you need to go down more.

dont forget mate, with the power im gonna have in my scooby donk im NOT too worried about going real low. I aint got dropped spindles on her now and to be honest 1. the roads up here are shit. 2. i think the stance is about right on her now..

i fink ur right tho do the beem first and see how she goes and then if need be do the spindles later

Yep Know your putting it up front but if you find the right rad it wont hang down lower than it has to ie higher than the beams lowest point. as for fitting irs mounts you will need to use a jig to locate them in the correct place. smile

Well i didnt get as much done today as i would have liked
My frickin back started playing oop and my dodgy knee too, fuck me i feel like an old man(waits for piss take comments)

Anyways, i managed to get the left front inner wing area all chopped out and new metal trimmed and welded in place...
and i started to apply the filler to areas that need it....

the old girl is suddenly starting to take shape and im well chuffed at the way its all going, specially considering i am doing ALL the work on the driveway

Well, ive been tootling along slowly but surely on my oval.
managed to get the left rear quarter welded, sealed, filled, rubbed down and primed
Still got a fair bit of work to do on this arch to make me happy with it,as there are a few bumps n blemishes i want rid of.Just need to get some of the really fine finishing body filler.

gettin there slowly but surely

Well i had a really really good day on the old girl today (the car NOT the wife )
Got the right rear arch all finished

Then it was time to remove the rear apron.i am gonna make this a removable one in the future to assist in workin on the scooby lump

and then the BIGGY.......the engine oot doin it on my own on the drive......
So, i laid down some solid wooden planks between my driveway slabs, placed the jack on them....rolled the car over the jack.....took the weight of the engine.....spent about 30 min gettin the bolts out...jiggled the engine out....got the wife to steady the engine....then rolled the car away....piece of piss

engine just needs a good clean and check, clutch and flywheel removing then i will replace the main crank oil seal...engine done

nicely wrapped oop for now

have a few bits to tidy up inside the engine bay area...i pick up my 6 rib g/box next month from John.stone and then i will start the fun part of mocking up and making fit the six rib box and scooby lump.once all that is done i will move onto splitting the shell from the pan.

Looking good Mario! My rear valance is removeable, makes life a lot easier!

Rich at RJES is a cracking guy! He only lives about 3 miles down the road from mine so if you do ever need anything picking up and taking to a show or anything just give me a shout.
He's just pretty much rewired my whole ECU (without mentioning names the previous so called reputable company had bodged it!)
Very thorough with his work, you won't be disappointed!

Hey Betsy,
getting that rear panel off makes life soo much easier
I am just waiting to get a reply back from Rich but if ive not heard owt in a couple of days then i will give him a bell.
Out of interest who is this "other" company would they happen to just have 3 letters in their name, the 1st one being T
if its the same i got well warned off them a while back
As for Rich i have heard nothing but good praise from everyone ive spoken to regards my conversion so the guy has got himself a shit hot reputation and iwht the amount of research ive done on him and his work ive NO qualms what so ever in going to him.Rad Dubs and the darkside both directed me to him so he cant go wrong with blokes like them giving him a rec.
Thing i pretty much expect i will get Rich to do or provide all the stuff i need to get me sorted. the 1st being my loom.

Hows your Beasty running now???????
Ive just ordered my LAST 2 panels for the rear of the car( engine bay side panels from Hookys) and once they are in that IS the back end DONE welding wise
Then it'll be finish orf my two front inner wings and OFF comes the shell so i can really blitz the floor pan frame head area.
So it looks like ive progressed a good bit as i wanted ALL the welding done by the END of THIS month So its looking good.
BUT,then the REAL fun starts with the scooby lump

Oh and thanks for the kind offer of picking up bits if needed

Last I spoke to Rich, he was pretty much fully booked with work untill mid April!! So if he doesn't reply right away don't worry, he will get around to it!

That would be the company, Rich was pretty sure it was done by them....I must scrape the stickers off my windows!

Ronnie is running amAzingly!! Was in the garage last week and turns out I had lost some studs from the exhaust manifold, so had all of them replaced, new exhaust gasket, and I had some split fuel lines which were replaced and it's never ran better! Pretty rapid now, I'm loving it!
My front right brake was locking up, but bled them last week and now they're all working sweet, just booked it for MOT next Monday!! Then it gives me all week to get any work done IF it fails before going racing on the 28th Very Happy

You're right cracking on with the oval, tis good! I really hope I get to see it!!

Very Happy

We my mate drove Ronnie the other night (he's got a bug that runs 13s) and he reckons I'll easily be able to get sub 15 in it. I'd LOVE to get low 14s, we shall see!!

I fly to America 18th June untill Sept 21st, so you're on a tight schedule to get her done for me to seeeeee tou

im fookin going as fast as i can

Once you get used to it im sure you will nail the 14's........................then you will wanna go fasterrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I must admit tho i have NO expectations with what i will run................my main concern is controlling my bladder when i wheelie for the 1st time
(think i may get some pampers for the 1st few runs down the Strip )

Plus i will have the added burden pressure of knowing THIS lot will be sat on the hill watchin me

Haha! That's kind of why I'm glad I'm going down just for a RWYB day rather than at a show for my first time! Mind you, a fair few of the Renn Wagens will be there!

I'm just gonna take it steady while I get used to it, then I guess I can only get faster and will give me something to aim at :incheek:

I'm exciiiiiiiiiiiiited!! Very Happy
