hi im from coventry i bought my first bug a 69 lhd dutch import from bristol "FREDA" 4 months ago to attempt my first resto project after always owning mk2 gti's,started to strip it down to look for the rusty stuff cutting it out and welding prior to preping bodythen began to paint 5 coats of flame red with flatting in between each coatthen started to reassemble fitting wing rubbers was a bitch!and trying to get eng lid an bonnet to line up was bit tricky tostarting to take shape at ...

not as flash as a lowlight ghia but a good daily. found it up the road. t & t new tyres a good service history. got a few scabby bits but nowt serious. not bad at all really, everything works as it should. £240 so a fdk sticker will need to be purchased. and a nice lazy auto

Well the Oval is well and truly stripped down now, and (dare i say it) she isnt as bad as i first thought Altho, i do have to change the heater channels,floorpans, rear bumper mounts and body mounting points. Ive already cutout and welded in the left rear bumper mount and body mount and 2morro should see the arrival of the same panels for the right side. Next will be the right hand floorpan, being as im going scooby TURBO in the back i thought it would be best to do all the welding in one ...

Well whilst waiting for the paint to dry on my oval i decided to have a looksee at my squished one....... Ive gotten pissed off with waiting about for the fucking company to sort my money offer out so i decided to give a few gentle taps here n there with the palm of my hand...................................result is she looks better already altho i will need a proper hydraulic jack kit,which a friend has kindly offered to lend me i managed to get the panel doors open and get inside......... here ...

does this look jank

Posted a few pics when i joined up but thought id put a little pic thread here too How it was looking end of last year... not much to update since then really.... took all the interior out the other week to paint the floors, evrythings good, not rotten and no non-intended rust that i can see. hammerited in black. while i was there i took the beam out and commenced on a small mission to get a bit more clearance... i now have 1" of clearance, ace sunroof also came out ...
