i noticed my generator light was on dimly this morning, as the engine rpm rose the light got slightly brighter.
is this a sighn of some impending disaster or summat simple like a new belt?

check the connections asap . some time a sighn of a bad earth , sure some will no more than me about it

Could be regulator on the way out or the bushes in the dynamo.
Bushes are easy to do (greenfyregirl managed hers )
I would go with the bushes idea first.
GSF will do them and it cured gfgirls problem the same as yours

well i waggled a few wires and just checked the connections and guess what?

not doin it now
