I thought that that just before I went to bed last night!
I love that beetle of his with the 2.8 lump in it years ago it was one of my favorite lumps!

A friend on another forum has put those scoobie engines in buses, but has moved on to golfs at the moment but leaving them with vag engines though!

Got to be something on the web somewhere! smile

Oh right, I had'nt heard anything, sorry.

Where did your conversion plate etc. come from? What gearbox are you running?

oilyT

I made mine out of some 10mm plate and got a mate to machine my flywheel up for me. im still useing a late bug box with splined main shaft factory welded 3rd 4th super diff and h/d side plate,
its holding up so far. Very Happy

Barry what BHP do you reckon you are pushing out????

IF im gonna go alternate engine then i wanna try n get over 200 horses

The deeper i get into the strip down on my Oval the more it looks like im gonna go for some serious power oh and a helluvva lot o welding too

Now ive got some clean injectors in it i should be back up to 160hp and the same in torque. 200hp+ is easy going alternative.
just spend as mutch as you can afford gear box wise.
