any of you peeps oot there know of any good shit i can use to protect bare metal on my oval???
ive just stripped back the 1st rear arch to bare metal ready for cuttin n welding so im after summin good to protect it all with after welding is finished.
i dont wanna use POR15 as it peels orf of bare smooth metal...


any good ideas you lot???? pretty pulease

Anchor Wax wud do it, made by morris oils, its availible online too, you wash it off with thinners, how long you gonna be leaving it like it?

Get weld through primer mate,its supposed to be very good according to a few welding sites i just looked at.

i use similar stuff,but its in a can for brush application-£26 a litre,& its got so much zinc in it its bloody heavy-you need 2 hands to lift the tin! teamac zinc rich primer-available in agricultural merchants

Can you actually weld thru this stuff dude??

yes,usually!...With a mig its no problem,but the spotwelder doesnt really like it,so its best to only paint the surfaces that are not in direct contact with the electrodes,ie the insides of the weld-it also gums up the electrodes,so you have to keep cleaning them
havent tried it with a stick welder yet

cool, ta much for that,luckily im using a mig so will look at getting some of this
