Well ive been a busy boy this Boxing Day
I am fookin really shattered but it was worth it,cos ive got the 1st pan in the car

1st piccy is of the pans in my workshop, prepped and minus the jacking points( i cut em orf cos i consider them to be rust traps )

next is the in car area with the lip sprayed in weld thru primer(silver area)

next we have the floor pan in place in the car. i just have some final jigging to do to finish aligning it then stick the bolts in once im happy then i will drill holes all along the floor pan edge on gearbox tunnel side and then plug weld it in all along that side front to rear.

now im gonna sit n snooze for the rest of today and maybe have a brandy or 2 to gloat on my progress

Floor pan now jiggled into position and bolted in.
just gotta drill my holes for the plug welding(2morro if i have time) and then start the plug welding.
Have decided to take the body right off,i may aswell being as i will have it all unbolted when doing the floorpans and heater channels. Then at least i know its done right and i can underseal everything at the same time

finally got the rhs floor pan in and finished and started chopping out the lhs(driver side) floor pan today.
Its all unbolted and chopped ready to chisel out, managed to take one piece out so i feel i achieved summin.

im way behind schedule ( i had hoped to have both floor pans in at this point) but due to the oodles of snow we have had and other shit going on its been hard to get out and motivate myself!!
Still i managed some bits today so thats a positive.
The negative is i fucked my grinder so will need a new one, BnQ £10 special comin up

I fuck two BnQ £10 grinders up in about fifteen mins each the last ones lasted me six months now. and now ive posted this i bet it'll burst into flames tommorrow. lol

the moll

Mart's on his 5th grinder now. He likes to keep 3 going but he's down to 2 now. He's taken 3 back fooked and he's got 2 that are usable.

And i thought it was just me that happened to!The last grinder i got from there is still going strong after 3 years of abuse!although you now have to keep the button pushed up with your thumb as you grind as it no longer locks off but for a tenner ive got my moneys worth i reckon!
The quickest way to detonate a grinder is use wire cup brushes on them ive found!

The oval is looking great Mario,When is the body coming off?

Well, i managed a real good day on the ol girl today

BOTH floorpans are now, bolted, welded in and sealed
2morro will hopefully see inner wings on both sides chopped out AND welded in and sealed
Wednesday i will start any filling, rear and front arches, to smooth off and protect the welds and hopefully will see me ready to lift the shell OFF the pan I am lifting the body off with doors and glass and bonnet n decklid still ON the car to save me a bit of time.
I hope to have the floorpan totally cleaned oop and rust free and painted by the end of next week ready to put the shell back on again(fingers crossed)
I may leave the body off a wee while longer tho as i want to fit a new 2inch narrowed beem and re-do all brake lines and the main fuel line(i chopped thru the last one wiv ma grinder )
I am still not sure if i want to fit dropped spindles on her, as i am still unsure of how she wil handle/look(stance wise) once i shoe horn the scooby donk in. I may just go with the narrowed beem and use the old sway a way adjusters with stock spindles....like i say im unsure but will decide soon.

Thats it for now

Looking good Mario!!

Be careful if you do go with dropped spindles depending on where you are mounting the rad and due to how low the sumps sit.

Mine isn't lowered much however I scrape on pretty much any speed bump and couldn't park on a curb if I wanted too.

lol

I loves saving pennies!!

When I first bought mine I wanted to lower it a bit more, but after driving it for about erm......an hour I decided that would not be possible lol

The housing for the fan on mine has become rather dented because of it catching on bumps etc and pot holes are a fucker, but it's all good, at least it's just the metal housing!

I'v never caught the sump yet (touch wood) and mine is the shortened one so if your motor has the normal one it would be worse I imagine!
