if your making one yourself do you need to make a metal frame for the window or can you buy just the frame from somewhere? then add-weld your own fixings. Ta

you can buy rear safaris at any of the major uk suppliers taze but they're bloody expensive for what you get..
I dont know anyone who does just the frame in the uk but thats pretty much the main part.
Adz bought his beetle safari from the US but only because nobody makes them here.

could you not have a frame and just have the glass drilled for hinges , im sure iv seen them done like that .

Cheers chaps, im guessing James n Rachaels one is a bought one, how much are they roughly to buy? n Pete from Death Trap Dubs has recently made one i noticed it at bvf he had spot welded his own fastenings, i will call in there next time im going past n ask him what he done, the frame looked like a pre maufactured one

i recon you could get the bits of a sun roof from bucklands and drill the holes to match in your glass then off you go . jobs done

James window is just glass and no frame,like side popouts on a new car.
Think it was from bluebird customs,not as expensive as the safari versions

i dont spos james's will open rite up as its just like a big sun roof , but it would be easy to do i recon

not bad for the cash . i recon you could still do a sunroof type job and then do some sort of safary bit that holds it open if it didnt have to be super tidy ., i guess on taxes querky van it would look cook still . i quite fancy trying to build something

yeah we got one, fantastic piece o kit. just dont drive around with it open or the fumes come in and watch as you walk round the back of the bus as its just about eye height.

yes mate..
As toast says,you could make the same as that with some cut to size glass and some rear popout catches.
Use the same seals as i did for my safaris
