Having not driven the bug for a couple of weeks, i went out and when starting to pull off in 1st it seem to judder, ok when given more revs in 1st and fine in all other gears.

What could cause this? engine mountings seem tight and rubbers don't look bad??

Probably just got use to driving a more modern car.

It's telling you that you should not neglect it !!!

clutch judder maybe?

most likely just condensation forming on the flywheel if it's only a problem in the mornings... nothing to worry about. If the problem is still there after the car has warmed up then it could be a mis-aligned friction plate, broken fingers/springs on the pressure plate or oil contamination (wet clutch) caused by a duff flywheel oil seal... all of which will require attention. Keep an eye on it but like I say, if it's just cold mornings when the problem occurs then you're ok
