Hey guys, bit of a different one for you!
Firstly, this cars a massive head turner, if u dont like attention everywer u go then find another bug

I bought this car in about july 2009 and have loved every minute of owning it!
Its a 1966 beetle with original steel sliding golde sunroof
Taken back to bare metal in 1989 it was going to be restored, but the chap that owned it at the time bought a camper, and i suppose you could say the beetle took a back seat and spent the next 16years under a tarpaulin.
It was then bought by a member from here in 2005 and fully ankorwax'd to protect it. At the same time, it had new floorpans, narrow beam, all new brake and fuel lines run through the car, so underneath was completely solid where the outside looked completely opposite!
So 4years on from then, i bought it engineless, without MOT and needing a bit of love.
I bought a recon engine (1600 twinport) and had it MOT'd within the month!
Its done loads of shows, won best rat look at dubs at the castle, and best dressed vehicle at the bristol xmas cruise!
So, its full 'spec' as it is now...
1966 bug
golde sliding sunroof
1600 twinport engine
Weber IDF40 carb
Streetmax 1 5/8 exhaust with thunderbird quietpack
Alternator (bought only a few months ago)
New battery
Rayvern hydraulics
EP Safari front windscreen
Creamy white interior
Stock smoothies steels with 155 rears and 145/65 front tyres
2" narrowed front beam
CB performance drop spindles
probably a few other things which ive forgot! lol
bad bits...
-overfuels. car runs well but i think the jets in the carb are possibly too big or just needs tuning.
-handling. with the hydraulics, your effectivly running a floating beam and it gives it a more sloppy feeling through the steering (ive run shocks to verify this is the only reason) but i used this car daily last year and its fine once u get used to it.
-front screen. i never bonded the screen into its frame and so it doesnt sit quite right, it doesnt leak once closed, it just needs lifting up to fully close it (im being over critical!)
-front beam. ive got a bad habit of dragging the beam through carparks for the crack lol, its worn nicely on the bottom but its not rusty, just thought id let you know lol.
-sunroof. it works! wahooo, thats a rarity! but it needs the seals putting in, ive put the back one on, i just havnt had time to do it properly on the other 2 (although i do have them)
-RUST! they all have some! but despite its looks it has surprisingly little. the bottom of both doors are on there way out, as has the rear valance. but would last a while longer, its had 3patches for the 2009 MOT, went through the last mot with no welding needed! if you came down im sure you would find some tiny bits that i havnt even noticed but i can honestly say its pretty damn solid with no rot!
Floorpans and heater channels are solid!
-interior. needs a good scrub! and door cards arnt in the best condition! no carpets or headliner either
il take questions as im sure theres going to be a few!
its MOT'd and taxed till August 2011 ready for next years shows!
£3600ono
I dont need to sell it but ive got a 59 ghia which needs some love and id like to start gettin it sorted next year.
