Thought as ive finally started the build,i better put some pics up Very Happy
Got the stroker crank assembled, timing gear and dizzy drive on and bearings and rods in place and torqued up.
Fitted the crank into case along with the cam lobes and cam.
Dizzy drive gear in and shimmed correctly along with the dizzy set to correct position for the timing.
fitted bearing into the other half of the case and fitted together to see if i needed to do any clearancing for the rods (which you do normally have to do)
Trouble with finding out if it need clearancing was i had to fit the pistons and barrels so that the rods sat in their true arc as it turns.
It definately needed clearancing as the rods bolts were hitting the backs of the cylinder bores...so i had to strip it all down again and get out the dremmel.
After spending all moring with the hoover 1/4 inch away from the dremmel to suck up as much filings as i could,it was done.

Spent the next two hours cleaning out the case of the few bits that were left and when all was clean again i started to put stuff back.

And the case back together along with the barrels and pistons.had to temporarily fit the heads on just to keep the barrels from pushing out as i turned the motor checking for clearance issues...the heads still need to be machined to fit the barrels yet.

All back together, turned the crank and its still bloody catching sad sad
So ive got to strip it all back down again and dremmel some more sad

Not working good at the mo though mate.
Strip it back down and dremmel some more,it just nigh on impossible to tell if you've done enough untill the b&p's are back on so you can turn the bugger and it all sits and turns in its right place.
my other problem was the 4 short head studs for the right handside have got nuts stuck on them that i cant get off,so i couldnt fit the head onto the right side to keep the barrels from moving when turning over.
still seems to be catching a little though

Not sure mate, ive got to get this clearancing thing sorted first, then put back together and seal the case.
The ive got to get the heads machined fro the bigger barrels and pistons and possibly get the valve seats cut and possibly made bigger for bigger valves.
Then put it all together with the new carbs which ive got to rejet to suit the engine size, then rolling road it
Maybe 2027 it will be done lol

They had been lise but if you dont paint them immediately they go rusty before your eyes..you shouldnt paint the threaded bits because it bungs the nuts up,thats why id didnt smile

Right case apart again, all parts taken out and more clearancing done.

Clean out case again, parts all back in,b&p's and heads on to check if its worked and it bloody does Very Happy Very Happy
nothing hits anywhere and deck height looks close to what it should be Very Happy Very Happy
so i couldnt resist adding my carbs

Now got to take it all apart again to fit cam lobes and seal the case

My only problem is i think its a bit too stiff to turn by hand still.
No clearance problems but without spark plugs in.its still quite stiff to turn, almost the same as trying to turn the pulley by hand when its in the car.
it goes loose then stiff the same as when you have good compression but i dont think it should be that much without the plugs in.
I can hear the pistons pushing through the barrels which coincides with the tighter parts.
Ive checked and double checked the bearings are seated properly and they are.
Im just worried that it will get tighter when the case is torqued up fully and it will damage something.
I need mr T to come cast his weary eye wink
