1 6v starting tips? on 9/4/2011, 5:25 pm

anyone have any tips on 6v, seems that if my bug doesn't start on the first couple of turns it won't start at all! its like all the power is turning the engine over, and not enough left to give a good spark. i have two 6v batteries both fairly new, trickle charging 24/7.

what about a 12v conversion ? unless you care its a 6v , 12v is alot more useful , if not you need it to start quick then id guess you should make sure the carb is good and clean and the choke is working and some plugs and point before anything els

I've got a 6v bug too, if the battery can only manage a few turns it sounds like the battery
to me. Mine never starts first time unless warm, last time I had the problem I kept putting the
battery on trickle but didn't do the trick, status do very reasinably priced 6v batteries.
