Well nearly got the bulkhead out but my spotweld drill bit went blunt. so round 2 tomorrow.

180! Yep 100 and frigin 80 spotwelds drilled out and rewelded on my heater channals.


just to take these bits out.


going to grind the welds down tomorrow then see if they fit.

why do you think i cut my roof off the van i drilled about a dozen out and thought fuck that

Had a bizy weekend on the bug got the bulkhead trim'd up ready to weld in.



Then spent a good few hrs cutting the old napolians hat off the chassie ready to fit the new one. after a few more hrs triming and messureing it was ready to tack into place.


Fitted the jig i made earlyer and sliped the heaterchannals into place then droped the front of the body down.


and nothing fits. lifted the body back up and noticed the lip on the heater channals was on the large side, so a quick trim with the grinder then try again.

What a bag o shite these panals are channals dont fit the chassie. the bulkhead dose not fit the channals or the napolians hat.

Major rethink about this. gona have a few beers and have another go tomorrow.

Started hitting it with a bigger hammer but thought i'd better stop before i got carried away and knock it all into a 3ft cube with frustration .

Pannals are from gsf and heritage all come from the same sorce. if someone made decent pannals they would be onto a winner.

Thought i'd best update this thread a little and just to say i have been working on it. :)Some top secret stuff but but most of what ive been doing is sorting the rotton floorpan out

managed to get another old pan that i could chop some repair sections from.
so loads of messureing more drilling of spot welds cutting and grinding i managed to get the bits i needed.


all ready to weld into the pan.
But before i could cut the donor pan up i had to make a jig for fitting a new frame head. so useing some bits from a scrap beam a couple of bits of tubeing and box section i nocked this up.

shoud hold every thing square
By the end of Tomorrow should see the pan ready to fit the frame head.

Managed to chop the rot cut out ot the pan today and trim the repair section to fit. was going to tack it in place but my gas regulator started playing up so i had to try and fix that instead.

tomorrow will see it done.
